Investigating Energy from the Sun is a SEPUP module designed for use in grades 6–12. The module contains a series of 7 activities that provide approximately 3–5 weeks of instruction.

  • 1 equilateral glass prism, 75 mm

  • 8 square black cotton cloths
  • 8 square white cotton cloths
  • 1 small mirror
  • 32 thermometers

  • 8 pieces of clear plastic
  • 8 30-mL bottles of white moisturizing lotion

  • 1 overhead projector
  • 16 newspaper photographs of faces or easily recognizable objects
  • 3 sheets of paper
  • 8 sets of colored pencils
  • 1 glass object
  • 8 stopwatches or clocks with second hands
  • 8 protractors
  • 8 props (book or other object) for Quad-tray
  • chart paper
  • variety of common transparent objects
